Think Adidas, Think Batik

Just when you thought tradition can't be cool, the good people at Adidas shows you how it's properly done. The newest addition to their ever growing Materials of the World project uses intricate designs inspired by none other than INDONESIAN Batik. Batik is actually a method of dying exquisite decorative features on fabrics. It's a well known tradition handed down over generations that unfortunately has been subjected to lots of imitation and copyright disputes by neighboring countries. (Get your own tradition, pirates!)

History aside, three products will be introduced: Metro Attitude Hi sneakers, track jacket, and cap. You can find out more about them here.

Facts: Indonesians mostly use Batik to formal parties, semi-formal parties, especially weddings. They are also used as government official and school uniforms. Batik was introduced to the world by Soeharto in a UN conference back in the 70s.

Thanks to Hamdun for sharing the info.

Go Ahead, Drool

Good God! Now how do you expect me to sleep at night, Steve Jobs!!! This is truly the ultimate wet dream for technology enthusiasts. Perhaps a touch screen would be even better, but this would suffice... for now.

EnjoyHelix is now receiving donations for the foundation of "Where My Air At?". Donors should contact yours truly as soon as they have the money. Early birds will receive warmer hugs. Thank you.

Wall-E

Way in the future, Earth was covered with trash and was impossible to live in. Mankind had to evacuate but someone forgot to turn off the last remaining robot. Introducing WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class). He's the last surviving robot on earth whose only purpose is to clean up trash. 700 years of collecting knick-knacks and trying on bras (see picture) WALL-E stumbled upon EVE, a sleek new robot send to earth to check on things. She found out that the key to the planet's future lies in the hand of WALL-E and she raced back to space to report her findings to the humans. Meanwhile, WALL-E followed her all over the galaxy because 700 years of seclusion was more than enough for a robot to acquire feelings.

In theaters 06.27.08. Can't wait!

THEY'RE REAL!!!

What did I tell ya? Eh? Eh? They are real! We're just one baby short. Maybe Maggie's the one behind the camera. It is spooky though. But, it's the effort that counts, right, you eerily yellow people?
